Just completed the Newport Ensenada race to Mexico. 125 miles of excruciatingly light wind. 2 42DS (1 mine) and 2 49DS. The other 42DS with beautiful composite sails with vertical battens and one 49DS didn't finish. Other finished 2nd in its class. Congratulations! We finished 11 of 42. Does anyone have experience with vertical batten roller furling? I came close this winter, but salesman forgot to call back. I know they wouldn't be as good as horizontal batten, but I sure love my roller furling main (and I get a 12 seconds per mile handicap)
