My water heater quit working with 110vac. I have a c-warm water heater www.jeanneauamerica.com/techdownloads/techsheet_heaters.pdfI read somewhere on this forum someone had the same problem and reset a switch at the heater. Is the reset under the cover on the heating element as seen on page 21? Thanks for any info!

Just FYI everyone, the hot wire to the water heater corroded thru and broke. Cut, strip, connect good to go.

An FYI from my side - I have the QUICK water heater aboard and the AC heating element has burned out. I have the replacement element, but in order to get out the old one I need a huge socket (I can't recall the size right now, but it is over 4cm). I was only able to find this size at an auto dealer (is meant to remove clutch assemblies) and costs $80 or more. So rather than getting this rarely used tool it might be worthwhile to hire a plumber to replace the part as they would have the correct tools.

I'm having exactly the same problem. None of the local shops recognised pictures of a box spanner and none of the online shops (France & UK) sell them with the element & thermostat. I could buy the element (and thermostat f needed) but not the tool to remove & fit. Suggestions about buying locally (I'd said that 2 days trekking around failed to find any) or buy on eBay (I said I was continually on the move on board boat). So not a lot of help.
I finally tried my largest mole grips end on with tips gripping the flats and a screwdriver through the jaws as a lever. Not as bad as I'd feared and it came out easily after 1/16th turn to free it. There's an O-ring at the top so it probably doesn't need to be very tight to seal.
I've hosed the inside, added some vinegar, tightened the element and filled it to clean and leak test. No problem overnight. Unfortunately, replacement hasn't arrived yet but should be here tomorrow.
There's a stud for earthing close to element and you'd need a very thin box spanner to clear it. A large socket would probably foul the stud so imagine clutch removal tool wouldn't work. If you do need a box spanner then it's approx. 56mm across the flats. I think that the element has a 1 1/4" BSP instead of the usual 2 1/42" BSP thread.
I think that I could probably source a cheap INOX element with thermostat if I was in UK. Pretty certain I could get one with combined thermostat for about £30 instead of 70 Euro here (+30-40 Euro for thermostat).
