We have a 44 DS , 2014, with a 1000W Quick Windlass. The darn thing has this cheap little plastic lock tab that is failing to allow the gypsy to stay engaged. You physically have to hold the thing in place, which is not at all safe. Has anyone had to deal with this issue? Any tips?
Secondly, there is no cleat in the anchor locker. Has anyone added one? The area does not feel particularly heavy enough to do so. Thoughts?

Ww have the same windlass but no problems. Contact Mike Cook or Spath at Quick in Baltimore +1 (410) 636-5991. They were most helpful on some other questions.. WE do not have a cleat inside the anchor locker.

I had same issue on my 2011 45ds when new. We has a replacement windlass sent out. They were not happy to do this and I had to get insistent. I think that's the best remedy. The warranty should cover it.
