I have installed two Zeus 7-2 units on the Simnet network, along with the GoFree WIFI module, all works well except for a couple of small issues which I have not been able to solve.
1. the navionics maps installed on one unit are not visible on the other, even though the manual suggests they will be, likewise waypoints created on one unit are not seen on the other, and visa versa. 2. True Wind angle is not visible on the Sailsteer compass rose (is visible on the numbers panels) even though I have checked the tickbox for this option. Unfortunately B&G Tech support are a complete waste of time, I have entered the issued on their webform, e mailed them in the .co.uk and .com address and not had a response(other than an automated acknowledgment) I have phoned them only to talk to someone who did not understand the concept of true wind and apparent wind Grrrrrrr.
Any help greatly appreciated, if you have 2 units do you see the same problems, have you managed to resolve the issues. The chartplotters have the very latest firmware updates installed..

OK, may have answered my own question here, it seems (but not entirely clear) that the maps and waypoints data are only shared over the Ethernet network, NOT the simnet or nmea 2k network.
Next question is I have a GoFree connected via Ethernet cable to one disply, the GoFree has 2 Ethernet inputs, so if I connect the other display to the second port on the GoFree will that constitute afull Ethernet network or will I also need a NEP 2 ?
ps. True Wind data issue still unresolved

If it's anything like raymarine you need 2 connections, seatalk NG and ray net to make the mfd's talk maps together, something to do with lack of bandwidth, but maybe it's to make you buy more, expensive cables.

You are right, chart data is accessible only via Ethernet. And yes, if you connect your other display to GoFree, it will work as a router. No need for the NEP2. Also you can choose either one of the displays to be shown in your iPad via GoFree when they are both connected.
