I have to disconnect the mast electrics on my SF 37 prior to a road journey and have been quoted over £100 for the job, which I feel's a bit steep. Planning to wing it myself. Any tips or gotcha's

it is not too difficult, but you have to mark the wires well in order to gurantee to get them back at the right place. making a picture of the connections on beforehand will be helpful. the wires of electronics might be a bit difficult to replace as there are may be very thin wires among them. especially if you have radar it might be tricky. if you have radar you should check if there is a connection under deck. if that is not the case you need to move away the cable from the display, which could be quite some job. to get the deckfitting watertight after reinstalling can be also a bit work, unless you a swan-neck.

This is a simple DIY job. Just remove the wooden covers in the ceiling and disconnect the sockets. If there are some additional wires on screw terminals then make a view photo's or mark the wires with masking tape.

Thank you. No there's no radar, and the wind is a tactic wireless one. Which ceiling panel? Is it immediately aft of the mast?

Yes, in our SO37 these are 2 small panels behind the mast.

Thanks for those posts; job very straightforward thanks to camera phone pic of connections. £100 saved!
