so far I have been ripped off only twice in ebay - for 18650 fake batteries and for SS jubilie clamps - has sent me a zinc plated instead .... btw: if you want a max reputable seller of Lithium batteries, bms etc then the best bet is : www.ev-power.eu/I have used them more then 5 times and all is perfect only down side transport is not very cheap - they use TNT ...

In my opinion Lithium batteries are best avoided. The consequence of something going wrong doesn't bare thinking about. Especially when buying from an unknown source such as Ebay.
Having stated that, I would not be surprised to see them used more frequently in boats in the future, but the total system (including charging from mains and engine) needs to be properly engineered. Replacing lead acid batteries directly with lithium should not (in my option) be attempted nor should it be encouraged to be carried out by someone without the proper knowledge and competence.
