I have a SO 37 based in Howth, Ireland which has some damage to the starboard aft toerail and will have to be replaced. When our local yard ordered the replacement 10ft section it did not match the existing ones which have a slight golden tinge to them and the replacement one provided is just aluminium coloured. Perhaps mine was a special edition and only a few were ever made. We had provided the hull ID number so ensure there could be no mistake. Our local Jeanneau agent contacted Jeanneau to get the correct coloured rail but they say the manufacturer has gone out of business and they have no replacement rails left. Would anyone be able to help me in finding a replacement rail please. Peter

Frustrating. Worth giving some of the larger dealers a call, they often have odd bits of stock - Try Warren at Seaventures +44 2380 455333 and/or Ian at Clark and Carter +44 1621 785600

Many thanks Malcolm. Have contacted Warren and agreed to send him hull details and photo and he will investigate. Coincidentally he received an email last week from another chap looking to sell 2 aluminium coloured toerails, for a SO37, which he had purchased in error as he also needed the golden coloured ones. There is obviously a demand for these rails. Maybe some plating company would be interested in anodising them in this colour.

My old SO 29.2 had one section of toe rail that was a nice golden colour, the rest was aluminium coloured. The boat was four years old when I bought it and the toe rail was the original. My mate has a 2005 SO43 and it has the same two tone system as well! Either the factory were not very fussy about matching toe rail colour or maybe the anodising can change colour with time.
