Any advice would be welcomed.
I have a SO 40.3 owners with 2 heads/showers. Last year my wife used the forward heads for a shower only to find the pump would not pump out although the pump was running. I cleaned out the pre-filter still no joy and then dismantled the pump with no obvious signs of what was wrong. Given it was just the 2 of us I did nothing further as we had the other heads and the shower works in there. Last week she used the main heads and the self same thing happened, the pumps works but does not suck anything through (yet and fortunately is had worked about 4 weeks ago when I changed the toilet pump and needed to clear away all the waste and cleaning water. Again I have made sure the pre-filter is clear but other than a lot of noise - nothing! Now here's the funny thing and I can't explain what made me try it other than a moaning wife - I poured a jug of water down the forward heads shower and surprise - surprise it worked?
Other than stopping the wife from showering or waiting another year for the current faulty one to start working on it's own does anyone have any useful tips or similar experiences??
Thanks in advance
Graham

Tighten all the circlips. Somewhere the system cannot build up it´s suction vacuum. The reason it may work now, is that calcium has dried up in the air lock, causing it to be closed.

Hi tightened all the circlips except those under the floor joining the waste from the shower itself but no joy so can only assume the problem must be there but looks near impossible to access - any further advice anyone?

On my SO43 I have a valve that is attached to the shower discharge thru hulls. Did you check and see if the valve is open?

Ok, if all the simple stuff has been checked. You may want to consider splitting the system for fault isolation. I would start by breaking the connection at the suction side of the pump. Normally the hose size should be 3/4" or 19mm. Connect one side of a known good section of hose to the suction side of the pump and the other side in a bucket of water. If it doesn't pump your problem is the pump, or the discharge side of the pump going to the thru hull. If it does pump, you know your problem is located between, the shower drain, pump filter or the lines in between. Good luck!
