I have a 2002 Jeanneau S.O. 34.2 with a very squeaky rudder. I have read the threads on squeaky wheel and through a process of eliminate found that the squeak is coming from two white bushes at the top of the rudder stock. When I turn the wheel one bush turns whilst the other one does not, hence the squeaking sound, see attached photo. Has anyone come across this problem before and if so how did you fix it? - apologies for the mess up, this is my first time on the forum

Hello stravaiger,
Welcome to the forum. Congratulations on finding that annoying squeak! I am not sure what the best solution is but if I were trying to resolve this one I would go for a silicon based spray. If sprayed around the site of the two bushes, hopefully some would creep in between the bushes and just provide enough lubrication to get rid of the squeak.
Regards,
Trevor

common problem , also in my case , if it could be a comfort , the squeking disappears when it gets warmer , really. For the rest , like Trevor said , loads of silicon based lubrication. Try pushing (very gentle) a small srewdriver in between so the lub-straw can spray in deeper. Good luck

Many thanks guys for your help, have sprayed the silicone around the bushes and worked the wheel a couple of times, seems to do the trick, although not 100 % cured it's well on the way.
