One of my plotters on board is a RL80C pathfinder raymarine. Lately i Seem to be having Some difficulties with the bearing or alignment of the radar. Meaning , everytime i switch on the plotter and activate the radar in need to adjust the bearing , sometimes even up to 25° be it to port or starboard! Not happy with that. Does have any idea what could cause such a behavier ? Thanks

Hello sailbleu,
I had a problem once with autopilot direction because I and put a vacuum cleaner next to the fluxgate compass. I must admit that did not make me feel very smart because I even had a sign saying the flux gate compass was in the cupboard and not to put metallic objects near it!
I am not suggesting this is your problem but that is something I would check first.
Regards,
Trevor

Unfortunately, Raymarine isn't above having bugs in their firmware. I recently returned my e7 MFD for replacement. In the past year, it had developed the need to recalibrate the touch screen each time you turned it on.
Check the Raymarine web site to see if there is a known issue with your radar.
Hopefully, Trevor's suggestion about checking the equipment near the fluxgate compass will solve your problem.

Have you tried a re-calibration of your system. I reset my RL80 and had a new wind system put on and both of these need the system to be re-calibrated. Which I will (try) to perform in the next few days!

Thanks for the input Guys , i Will adress everyone of them. Although i must say i am very careful About metals next to the flux , I briefed the family on that issue. I was considering of mailing Raymarine About the problem , their helpdesk is really ok , you always get an anwser be iT that sometimes iT takes a week to get. to you. This in strong contradiction with Jeanneau whom very rarely respond. I Will also check my manual with regards to resetting the unit , maybe the anwser lies there. Anyway , I had a theory myself , maybe the drivebelt of the antenne inside the dome is a bit worn out. As far as I can remember this is a plain and simpel O-ring , and obviously iT slip when the tension becomes too weak. Just throught . I Will keep you informed.
Regards
Ps: Sorry for my text here and there , but iT Seems my iPad has a life of iTS own , i haven't found the setting yet to eliminate the ' I-Will-fill-in-the-words-myself-mode '

On iOS 7 on the iPad: Open the Settings App and go to the General page. Scroll down to Keyboard and open the subpage. You will find auto-correction and other related settings there.
