I asked Jeanneau USA for instructions on how to remove and rebed the windows in the cabin top of the salon. I have a leak over the electric panel and I think I've eliminated all other options. There is stainless trim on the exterior that was not detailed in the instructions sent by Jeanneau and they haven't responded with anything further. How is it removed? It is just bedded in the RTV exterior glaze or is is secured to the cabintop somehow? Here is a pic of the trim I'm referring to: Attachment Deleted

You folks were my last hope. Seems no one on the planet has removed this exterior trim. Very out of character for Jeanneau USA to go radio silent as well.

Try calling Gilles Rigaux (410-280-9400) At Jeanneau America. He takes care of all my parts orders and has been very good in the past about either answering any questions I may have, or finding out the answer for me if he didn't know.
In looking at my trim pieces, it looks like they are just stuck on with adhesive, and would be a bear to get off without damaging them.

Gilles is exactly who I contacted originally and sent me the R&R instructions that do not include the exterior trim.
I would assume they are bed into the exterior sealant, much like older auto windshield trim, for which they make removal tools. However, if they are attached below, one would clearly damage the trim by trying to force them out.
I may drop another message to Gilles, but he's failed to reply to two messages I've left on the subject, since he sent me the partial instructions.

Still nothing from Jeanneau. Weird. Maybe the boat disintegrates, if you remove this trim.

I finally received an answer from Jeanneau. It seems not many have ever removed this before.
The metal trim is glued directly to the glass and comes that way before Jeanneau installs it. They say not to try to remove it. You have to get behind the glass with piano wire and pull through the seam to detach the glass, with the stainless steel trim attached, from the cabin top.
Can you imagine?
I just resealed some teak side deck seam joints, praying that it was leaking through one of the little hold down screws.
