Seasons greetings everyone. New forum member looking for advice please.
I have an issue with the qauge on my aft water tank. The digital display on the Scheiber panel at the nav station for tank 1 (Aft) will now only show a quarter full, when the tank is completely full. No issues at all with the readout from tank 2. It has only 'happened' like this in the last few weeks and I am at a loss as to what could be wrong.
Can anyone help please?

Check for corrosion around the sensor screws through the water tank sides, or loose wires. The junction box between the sensors and the wiring loom has been known to fail leading to destruction of the sensor screws. There was another thread reporting this. Hope this helps.
Seasons greeting to everyone.

I had a corrosive connection very early on in 2008. Clean it and white greased it with no problems since except that the Scheiber gauge is not very accurate, especially underway. Welcome to the forum and have a Merry Christmas and great 2014! Where are you located. You may want to add that to your profile as it helps!

Happy New Year!
Many thanks to sitara and Tafika II for the information and kind welcome to the forum. Apologies in my late reply in thanking you.
So far I have not been able to rectify the issue so will replace the junction box to see if this cures the problem.

Dear Sunnydayz, where did you find the junction box?? i have the same problem but not always only sometimes. I tried everything without any success...... and the original part sold by Italian Jeanneau branch is really expensive!!

Dear Spritz,
The junction box is next to the tank in the middle compartment under the rear bunk. I purchased a new unit when I was back in the UK for about £60 however, I have just returned to the boat which is in Sicily and replaced it only to find the tank gauge still only reads a quarter. I guess I should have purchased new sensor screws at the same time.
For reference the part number I have for the junction box is Ref 50 .BT E11009.00

Just taken out both sensor screws an no signs of corrosion. Swapped them round so now the bottom one is at the top and re-filled the tank which still shows a quarter full!! No obvious breaks in the wires as far as I can see with the limited access. Can't see any in line fuses on the Jeanneau wiring diagram either. Will have to fit a supplementary gauge perhaps in the rear cabin as water levels at anchor are important to us.

Dear Sunnydayz, thank you, please, when you have done, show me the water gauge you will put in place.
best Regards

Hello Antonio,
Just to update you in the end I did not fit another gauge but instead had a 'marine' electrician here in Sicily fit a switch for me. All of the wires from the aft tank were checked again and no issues found. It appears that the fault lies on the circuit board of the Scheiber panel itself but as the reading for tank 2 worked OK, the electrician wired in a changeover switch. It means that in order to see the water level in the aft tank you need to select tank 2 on the panel and flick the new switch. Not 100% ideal but better (Cheaper) than a new panel and fitting another gauge.
Regards
Steve

Hallo Steve, thank you the strage thing is that sometimes the display shows right values, sometimes wrong.... I check and lubrificated the electrical contacts but everything works fine...
I do not know..... perhaps I will change to a normal gauge....
