I have decided to change my 2-blade fixed prop on my Sun Odyssey 32i to a folding prop during this winter. The Engine is a Yanmar 3YM20 with a 25mm shaft and a gear ratio of 1:2:62.
After reading all the threads and the 2009 Yachting Monthly test report I have decided on the Flexofold 2 blade 16 x 12 RH folding propeller.
Unless someone out there says 'STOP' for some technical (or other) reason then I will order the above from Santa.
Regards

Go for it Orion!
We have had a 3 blade Flexofold on our SO36i; enhanced performance in forward compared to fixed prop; in reverse you will need more RPM to achieve same stopping power; when folded, sailing performance is a joy!
Keld at Flexofold, Denmark will confirm correct prop foy you - enjoy!
PS: we are fitting a Flexofold to our new SO 379

If you're going to all that trouble I would fit a 3 blade folder

My boat SO32 has the Volvo MD2020D so I guess that is why my blades are RH 16 x 10. Good service direct from Flexofold I'm looking forward to getting it fitted and going sailing. I will report when I get it fitted next spring Austin

Thanks everyone for your contributions.
I have ordered the 2 blade from Flexofold. Very efficent service.
To Electricmonk and the recommendation of a 3 blade instead of the 2 blade, Flexofold's own web site state that the "2 blade is more efficient than a 3 blade and will give you a higher speed at a given RPM in flat water" so I have gone with the 2 blade, also saving in cost. May be different for heavy seas or dock work.
To Austin and the difference in prop spec for the same boat but different engine , I would check it out just in case one of us is wrong, I will also ask the question when I receive the prop.
Will update you if there's an issue otherwise I update when I fit in spring.
Regards
