Hi Guys,
I hope I can still post here as a Benetau owner, but I've seen the seal is the same as on my previous Jeanneau and people are really helpful here :-)
The fridge lid doesn't seal at all. Hence, air is circulation. Hence compressor life expectancy lowered, hence battery consumption exceedingly high (or, say, very short battery life as the fridge is actually one of the biggest sinners on the boat) Since two out of my two boats had this problem, I'm quite positive that many Jeanneau owners must have had this problem.
Did anyone succeed in getting a bigger (taller, wider) seal or any other means to have the lid sealing the fridge?
I'm speaking of the standard fridge of the Jeanneau 36i that I had (and now the same on the Beneteau 40 I currently have). Upon closing the wood parts sit flush on each other and the lid seal is not even touching the rim of the fridge.
Thanks in advance,
Tom

I replaced the gasket completely with a closed cell 1/2" wide x 3/8" thick rectangular shaped foam gasket from Home Depot. It had a one side self-adhesive backing. I miter cut the corner by cutting triangles out of all but the outside edge to maintain the seal. I removed the old gasket, cleaned the surface with isopropyl alcohol and applied the gasket. It solved the sealing problem, but it does compress, so it may be something you have to do every few years. Cheap solution for under $20.00.
