A Belgian member of the Dutch language Jeanneau forum reported his SO37 stolen from Nieuport on October 24th. Here are its particulars. - Ship's name 'Sea Time'. - Slight damage to the bows, repaired but still visible about 75cms above water. - One of the white navigation light housings on the pulpit has been replaced by a black one. - Black portable GPS support on the wheel console. - Black anti-fouling paint. - On the blue striping forward there is a 'Blue Marin' advert in white. - A tall blue sprayhood with leather edges, stitchings manually repaired with thick white yarn. - Yellow life line bag on the port side of the stern. - A length of blue pipe on the stern to starboard, needed to fit a wind generator. This has been removed and is inside the boat at present. - Portside on the stern 2 navtex aerials. - An aerial on the port side of the bimini. - A big Transocean liferaft just forward of the sprayhood, below the boom. - Two speakers in the cockpit, the grille of the starboard one is damaged. - Radar dome in the mast. - A blue genoa cover and a blue lazy bag for the mainsail. - The protective edge on the stern has a 6cm cut on the starboard side. If you see this vessel, please alert the police at Ostend on +32 (0)58-224030.

There is still no news of the stolen SO37.
In view of the bad weather we experienced recently, chances are that the stolen boat has not been taken west, but east or north from Belgium. The English East Coast comes to mind. Please be alert for any unknown SO37.

Has the HIN number been quoted - would also be useful if the engine s/n was known

That is a good suggestion, thanks Malcolm. I will ask the owner of the boat. However first priority would be to notice any unknown SO37 that appears somewhere. Probably the thieves will have removed or altered the numbers anyway, but identifying that in itself would be a police job.

May be it's already done, but I suggest that the owner will inform by mail (with pictures) all harbour masters in the area suggested by TEDP and ask them to report any unknown SO37 which came in in the concerning period.
