we have a 54DS, always had a problem with the washing machine - it would not finish its cycle as it would not empty out. After emptying out of the front so many times I finally fitted a filter between the machine outlet pipe and seacock. I empty this before every use and the seacock does not get blocked. There is always muck in the filter. John Greenwod

I haven't had trouble with my washing machine (yet) - but I'll remember to check to see if there is a filter in the line. What is/was causing your problems before you put the filter in?

We've had an automatic washing machine on our 45.1 for 8 years. It's outlet is plumbed into the same outlet (and thus seacock) as the two sinks and we've never had any problems with blockages. What is in your filter when you clean it?
