I have just insulated my 60mm dia webasto hot air ducting and increased the heat output at the outlet by over 20%. I used some 80mm dia aluminum ducting that was already insulated with 25mm of insulation and threaded it over the webasto ducting. It only cost £27 for a 10m length, much cheaper that the Webasto insulation that costs approx £13 per 750mm length. OK so its not waterproof like the Webasto stuff but if it ever gets a soaking it will be the least of my problems!

We chose to have Webasto unit fitted by the dealer on our new SO33i rather than be factory fitted, because we wanted insulated ducts fitted.
It also turned out to be cheaper.

I bought it on e bay from a company called Green Ventilation Supplies, which happened to be based near where I live in Sheffield UK. There are several suppliers on e bay if you search "insulated ducting"

Aye'up, Seagem. I lived in Sheffield as well (within a stone's throw of the "Fat Cat" brewery). Not much sailing to do there, though...

Eyup Zanshin, I know the 'Fat Cat' very well, its still there! Yes you are right, not much sailing apart from dinghy sailing, which is where I got started at Rother Valley Country Park many, many years ago.

Hi everybody ,
I have a SO40 2002 and want to fit a air heating system either Webasto 5KW or Eberspcher. I will be gald if some one gives me info about the installation of Webasto. Which place is the best for locating Webasto device ? Where will I pipe ducting ? Please send me info if there is a SO40 owner who installed Webasto.
