0ut in some 5 t0 7 last week and lost the furler as i tried to reef the drum split, the sail completely unfurled the drum and discharged the furling line on deck A good sail to absolute mess in 15 seconds max. In a fit of peak I have strapped it back on with two 120mm stainless Jubilee clips and it is nice and tight has any one else had this problem the way the drum is attached to the shaft is by compression on an ovoid section held together with 4 plastic clips on the drum! I somehow have little faith in this construction I would appreciate any views or experiences are there any more jubilee clips out there.

Hi Sailbleu Can not do any pics to help as alls back in place with line on the drum all you can now see is parts of the jubilee clips which are placed top and bottom of the drum the splits on the drum being barely noticeable everything for the moment being nice and tight I had a local rigger look at it he thinks it should be OK It was a little difficult to deal with at the time being on my own fortunately I was able to reach under the lea of Berry Head drop the genoa and get tidy in some flatter water had a look at some other Profurl,s in the marina most are solid drums I have not got out since to test this rudimentary repair but definitely don't fancy spending dosh on similar replacement drum
