Hi, Next week I will buy a second hand Jeanneau but still I could not make final decision between SO 40.3 (2004) and SO 39i (2008). Two of them are same price Any advise, recommend .. ? Thank You, H.M

All things being equal I would go for the younger boat. You are lucky to find two good boats to choose from.

Thanks Sitara.
Actually SO 40.3 has heater, water maker, solar power.
But I can not evaluate them. SO 40.3 has 3, 39i has 2 cabin ??..

Hi tabaru, I agree that younger would be a preference, but outweighed if one is poorly maintained. I would go for better maintained. I would also look at the sails, sail shape is everything, though easily replaced, cost being the only difficulty for most of us. Other equipment is more difficult, though possible to add later, so look at what you would want to add for your intended use if it is not already there. Three cabin layout is popular compromise in hire fleets as easier for group use, but if your family/crew fits, the two cab inversions have larger cabins, so often better for private use. Keep the forum informed as to how you go. A delightful choice to have to make. Rene460
