I have a 2002 SO45.2 fitted with a Yanmar 4JH3-TE 75HP engine. The two port side bolts in the engine mounts have just sheared. I'm raising the issue here because I'm wondering if there is a design flaw. The mounts were standard Yanmar parts which were fitted a year ago when the previous port side engine mount bolts sheared. The bolts are 17mm stainless steel. Prior to the latest failure I was not aware of picking up a rope, etc. The engine was properly aligned and the transmission was very quiet.

I have a 2002 SO45.2 with a 75Hp Yanmer engine and have experienced no issues with the engine mountings. I doubt your problem is a design flaw.

I also have 2002 45.2 with the same model yanmar - no issues with mountings as of now.

I have a 43DS with the same engine - I did pick up a rope and it caused the P bracket mounting to fail - the engine and its mountings were fine.
