On my 2010 42 so ds, there is a bilge area that i can't figure out how to access. It starts under the aft head shower floor, runs under the motor and under the galley sink area. It opens into a bilge area under the salon table through a small opening under the galley cabinets. a strong smell has developed under this area. I am trying to figure out I can access it so that it can be properly cleaned. any ideas out there?

Try accessing from within the port and starboard engine mount mouldings. There are access holes and panels for this purpose. A little digital camera with flash is useful for inspection - be careful not to drop it though...

VERY helpful, thank you. never know these were there. still leaning the boat.
i did find the source of the smell. the aft holding tank thru hull valve has a small leak that goes into the bilge. discovered it last weekend while getting the boat ready to go back in the water from winter storage. I had to delay the launch while it gets fixed.
I'll also check the exhaust hose connection that you had trouble with.

aside from the the access holes under the motor mounts, i could not find any other access ports for the area under the galley and sink. i ended up mixing a solution of cleaner and disinfectant and dumped it into the bilge from the access hatch next to the rear head. i then used a long handled bottle brush and tired to scrub the areas i could reach.
it eventually did the trick of removing the smell
