Hi there,
looking to do a few fun races with a SO 34.2 and was wondering what the PERF rating was for this boat.
I see there is one listed in my local area with a 132 PERF (but I reckon its got a deep keel).
Anyone know what the PERF would be for the SO 34.2 with the short keel (draws 4'3").
Many Thanks,

offshore.ussailing.org/Assets/Offshore/PHRF/High+Low+Mean+PHRF+Handicaps.pdfThat is probably the best link to get a general rating for a boat. BUT, a 34.2 is not listed. Nor can I find the links to IRC ratings to guess going the other directions. There was a local puget sound listed at one time, but I can not find that boats rating. It is a SD version. IIRC in the 170 range. Altho, I doubt it was setup with a main as roached as it can be, maxed out jib size etc. Base rating could be in the 130-140 range, some credit for the SD, 18-21 secs for no spin in that boats case etc. There was an SD 34.2 in the Chicago area?!?! IIRC it was in the 130-140 range also. Marty

I obtained a Lake Michigan PHRF rating for our shoal-draft 34.2 two years ago. Unfortunately, I'm away from home at the moment and thus cannot pull up my certificate. As I recall, the basic number was in the 120s. I'll respond again on Friday, when able to look at the certificate. There was a thread on this about 18 months ago, with a number of posts, so try a search.

Amazingly, I found a PDF of my 2010 Lake Michiga PHRF sheet on a memory stick in my backpack!
Base PHRF 123 Adjusted/Distance PHRF 132 (9 deducted for Sunbrella genny cover) Non-Spinnaker PHRF 144
Finishing up a sale contract on my boat ... could there be a SO40 in my life by mid-summer?
