Hello, I wonder whether anyone might know what this panel is for. it was in my 43DS when I bought it, but I have no idea what use it may serve? Is it a Jeanneau extra that was fitted on build? Best wishes Julian

Amun Ra,
You picture, at 1Mb, is somewhat big; I've got slow WiFi here on the boat and gave up on trying to download it. The thumbnail looks like it is the output from a PC (I see VGA and COM1). What year 43DS is this on?

Zanshin,
My apologies, I will upload a much smaller res pic.
It is on a 2005 43DS, and yes, it does look like a PC output.
Best wishes
Julian

Much better - it really does look like the output from a PC - COM serial port, USB port, VGA monitor output and a headphone jack all next to the typical 12V plug. My guess is that there is a PC somewhere behind your panels, or at least the wiring for installing one. It will be worth your time to trace the wiring in the hopes of finding a PC that you didn't know you had; or perhaps just plugging in a USB disk to see if it gets powered up and then tracing the wiring.

If your boat has a TV, it's the connections from a laptop, MP3 player to the TV + a DC charger

Tafika - I had to chuckle at myself when I read your post; you are most certainly closer to the mark than I and the only excuse I have is that I haven't owned a TV set in years but do realize that they are closer to computer/computer monitors than ever before.

That is quite an interesting panel, and I, for one would like to know who made it, and if it (or something like it) is still for sale.
Where is it located on the boat?

Hi Zanchin! You're right, I use my connections for computer monitor from my laptop used as a second station on my Raymarine setup via RGA-45 connector to my TV/monitor. It was made up from a standard wall box and various plug in components. I don't have a picture, but can send on later if anyone is interested.

Thank you everyone. Yes, I do have a TV installed on the boat, so perhaps that is what it is intended for. I have been trying to establish what happens when I plug various things into the panel sockets, but without much success so far. I had hoped I might have had a link to the Raymarine set-up on the boat, but it appears not.
The panel is located immediately adjacent to the bookshelf, on the front facing end of the switch panels.
I think I might have to unscrew it to check behind to see what wiring leads away from it.
Best wishes, and thank you
Julian

Zanshin,
Do you have any links to a schieber web site that actually contains some content? I have been trying that URL for about 6 months, and it seems like the site is continually under construction, with lots of broken links and very little info about marine parts. And I am actually IN France, so one would think that it would work here.

Now that you mention it, I do recall having had the same problem a year or more ago when I was looking for another panel. I think I found some French distributor who had real content online but cannot recall the name.

Excuse my resurrecting this thread, but I have identified the manufacturer and now have a link to their website for anyone interested. It is a DeltaNautic item: www.deltanautic.nl/Unfortunately I am no further forward in trying to make anything connect through it! Best wishes Julian
