Hi All, I've always been concerned that I can only lower / raise the anchor using the windlass if the engine is running. I guess Jeanneau do this to stop us yachtys draining their battery's very quickly. So.... what happens if your engine cuts out or does not start? Obviously the Mrs is going to struggle doing it manually ;D So as a get you out of a jam mod, I've wired the windlass so that it'll work with just the engine ignition on. This mod is ONLY meant to get you out of trouble should your engine let you down, under normal conditions HAVE YOUR ENGINE RUNNING. I took a few pics on how I done this.... so here is a step by step guide on what to do.... 1st pic is of the windless motor and electrics:

This pic shows the wiring which you have to break into... Alt = is the alternator feed APC = is the ignition on feed

You will have to make a jumper cable like this.....

Connect one end of the jumper cable into the APC wire...

Then connect the two spade connectors into the control panel. Do NOT re-connect the ALT wire back in to the system or you will more than likely get a back feed. By doing this mod you can now raise and lower your anchor should your engine FAIL to start. Please note - it purely is a get you out of trouble mod.... but it may help! Please do check with your multi meter that your wiring was the same as mine... ALT = Alternator feed, so 14 ish volts when engine running only. APC = battery voltage only with ignition on. Hope this helps Ian
