Malcolm, Why not organise a jeanneau get together in Scotland next summer. We had some good fun this year with a number of fellow jeanneau owners. Have started new thread as now rather wandered off original subject.... Dublin's suggestion sounds good to me - what do others think/ If there is sufficient interest I will see if Euroyachts might help Malcolm

Since I sort-of planted the idea for this event, I should say that I plan to be in Scotland next year, and would participate, as long as it doesn't conflict with the whisky tour<g>. Maybe the two could be coordinated in some way...

Malcom,
As both a non Scot who spends most of my cruising time in Scottish waters (8 weeks in 2011) and a Malt lover I have always managed to avoid the malts cruise. I would hope to continue avoiding it.....
As I made the suggestion I would of course like to take part in a Scottish Jeanneau rendezvous. But if it means I have to miss the rendezvous to avoid the malts cruise itinerary so be it.
Steve T is Clyde based and may have some thoughts
Marty, I'm sure some of us will have spare berths.

Of course Marty and Sheryl would be very welcome, Agree about avoiding clashing with the Malts cruise and noting that RXC will be going back again in 2012, but WCC have not published the dates for 2012 yet - if the same as this year will be around the 5th till 18th July.
My rough schedule in any case is that I will have Serica up to Inverness by 3rd week in July then through the canal intend coming down the west coast in getting to Conwy by 3rd week in August.
Therefore end of July/start of August might work?
If anyone else is interested let me know

Malcolm,
Our current tentative plan is to head up towards Inverness in late May/early June, head thru the canal or around the top by the end of June, and participate in the Malt's cruise next year (whenever) about the same time as this year. After that, we would be well prepared to spend some more time in Scotland cruising with other Jeanneaus. We are even considering leaving our boat in Troon next winter, to avaoid the return trip for 2013 - we may go the Baltic then.

Ralph Sounds good - I will put a note on the main website next month and see what level of interest there is. The Baltic is well worth going for, we went in our 34.2 a few years ago - only saw the southern parts but plan to go back again after we retire M

I have had a very positive reaction to this idea from Euroyachts, the Jeanneau agent and as the Malts Cruise this year starts Oban 7th July and finishes in Tobermory on the 20th July the plan is to make the "West Coast Rendezvous" on the following weekend - 28th/29th July. Subject to confirmation I am hopeful that Dunstaffnage Marina will accommodate quite a few Jeanneau's and that we can have celebration meal at the nearby Wide Mouthed Frog restaurant I will be placing more info on the main website in the February update early next week. Hopefully we can get a good turn out. If anyone has suggestions for activities they would like (or would not like...) during the Rendezvous now is your chance to speak ;D Dunstaffnage Castle and Marina

If it is planned for late July then I will be interested in joining in. I am based in Troon, planning to sail to Orkney in May, returning via the Hebrides in July.
This will be a maiden cruise since I am changing my 34.2 for a 33i

The link does not appear to be working as this may tie in to our summer cruise.

Arrangements for the Rendezvous are progressing well, now with around 11 Jeanneau's hoping to attend and numbers still growing.... Erik Stromberg the Sailboat Director from Jeanneau France has confirmed that he will be attending (and bringing some Jeanneau goodies for participants) along with Angus Scott the Jeanneau importer. In addition to the support from Jeanneau and Euroyachts, we also have confirmed prizes courtesy of Dan-Fender and Bruntons Propellers. I am also working on "Chateau Jeanneau" for some of their 2010 Claret, but they have yet to let me know.... The programme to date: Saturday 28th July 1200 onwards Boats to individually arrive at the Dunstaffnage Marina - boats issued with Jeanneau flags/bunting etc 1500 (approx) Afternoon meeting - discussion with Erik Stromberg and Angus Scott with Owners about any aspect of Jeanneau's. Distribution of Jeanneau goodies to participants. 1800 Drinks Reception on terrace including (very) short welcome speeches 1930 Evening meal at The Wide Mouthed Frog Restaurant (picture is from their terrace) 2100 Yachting and Jeanneau Quiz – simple multiple choice questions for groups of 2 or 3. Winners to be awarded prizes (So far there is a £200 IonGuard anode system and 6 or so FenderSteps) Sunday 29th 1030 Fleet departs from Marina 1100-1200 Parade of sail - with photo opportunities Fleet disperses There are no entry fees, but skippers are responsible to pay their own normal berthing and Restaurant costs.
