I am replacing all of the eyebrow window on my 42 DS. Previous owners had obviously used different materials and methods. I’m actually looking at using Dow 795 instead of Sicaflex. Still haven’t decided. My question is about where to apply the bedding material. Does it go inside the depression/channel. Does it fill the depression or just part of it. It was done different ways of each of my windows. Some depression/channels had no material in them, some on the edge in a little bit in the channel, others were filled completely and overflowing. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I used Dow 795 instead of the Sikaflex a few years ago on my 43DS, and I think that I still have a leak, but in a different location, and probably because I tried to do it all by myself, which was not wise. If I had to do it again, I would use 3M VHB tape, which looks like it is less messy and fussy about positioning. And once you have it positioned, it WILL stick as soon as it makes contact. I think you will have to apply pressure to perfect the bond, though, which probably requires some sort of tools that I don't have (yet).
