After motoring we had a lot of water in the bilge. Searching through out the boat and checking the hull it seems the water is coming from underneath the liner. The engine compartment and transmission area are dry. I am thinking the bearing behind the shaft seal (behind the liner) may be going bad and leaking water, has any one had this issue? I did get some vibration when in gear as well prior. 2007 42ds
Either way going to start heading back to Georgetown for emergency hall out.

A little update, at anchor, dried out bilge with no more water entering. Started engine, no water, put in gear and center hatch starts to get water. So, I am still thinking there is a bearing behind the shaft seal that is gone bad, if so seems to be a horrible design flaw that water can enter the boat from behind a liner that can’t be accessed from inside the boat to try and plug or confirm that’s the source. It’s the only possible source I can find but I’m obviously not a expert, if anyone has any experience or information on this situation would appreciate any help as we are 2 days sail to nearest haul out.

Could it be water coming from your muffler (common leak point on these boats)?
