Hi all...I'm great with diagnosing issues (I owned a SeaRay for a long time...ha). I have a 695 that's taking on water only while underway. The crazy thing is that it accumulates in the gas tank 'compartment' and then seeps into the bilge. The gas tank compartment is only a compartment in the sense that it's walled off from below the deck with marine plywood and caulking.
All of my through hulls are closed. It only comes into the boat when underway. At one point after a long cruise (this is how I figured out I had an issue), the stern 'felt' heavy. I opened the deck hatch, saw 2" of water in the V of the bilge, then opened the gas tank compartment hatch and saw that it was almost full to the brim with water. It's seawater that's coming in. The only thing I can think of is that the round hatch that's directly in front of the engine also contained water, and it's at essentially the same 'elevation' as the high water level in the gas tank compartment. The hatch appears will seated and sealed, so I can't figure it out...
Anyone else ever come across this?
