Hi Jeanneauisti, do you please have some pictures of your Sun Odysseys bilges for me? My bilges in the saloon look different and I want to work out if this is normal or not. That looks pretty much the same as my 39i. It looks like they cut away the "pan" in the areas around the keel, and bonded the structural grid straight to the hull, while leaving the pan intact in other areas. It makes sense, because in the event of a hard grounding you will be able to see the structural integrity of the area around the keel.
The big criticism of the Beneteau/Jeanneau structural pan design is that it is very difficult to tell when the pan's bond to the hull has been compromised. Apparently on larger Jeanneaus, they cut away all of the pans between the structural grid, and bonded the grid to the hull everywhere.
