My windless has stopped working — was trying to find the circuit breaker and I’m stumped on where it’s located. The manual is no help with “positioned between the relay and the batteries.” That doesn’t narrow it down much.
Anyone know where the breaker is located, or any other trouble shooting tips?
Thanks in advance.

Hello sanjuan895
What model vessel do you have? With that information perhaps a forum member can tell where that is on their boat.
Regards,
Trevor

An inductive pen that detects 12v will help you find out if the break is upstream or downstream . I would start at the windless switch end as the switches particularly 9f they are foot switches are prone to corrosion . You can also test your windlass. By applying 12v direct to the terminals . The fuse assuming there is one ! Is probably a 100A resettable link . Mine is below the switch panel not immediately obvious but it depends if you have a battery located forward close to the winch or if it is wired with heavy cable from the main battery bank

On the 895 Sport and I believe the weekender, the circuit breaker is located in the battery switch area.

if it is an 895(not sport), it is in the main battery switch box, as circled on the attached picture

2017 895 Offshore. I must be blind because it looked right over it. It’s at the end of the galley with the rest of the power cut-offs:

You certainly aren't the only one to miss the windless switch. The one on my Sun Odyssey 35 is in the aft cabin (where it's quite dark) next to the main ground cutoff. It's black on a dark wood panel, so you won't see it unless you know where to look.
