Hi, having spent a few nights on board over the last week, and not being able to use the on board sea toilet we are thinking we need a holding tank (Wife not keen on getting dressed at 4am and walking to the marina toilet block)
But where one would go on a 3 berth SO34.2.
Ideas so far: - In the stern storage area at the the very aft of the boat - Lots of space but a long way from the toilet. - Replace the wall cabinet/storage cupboard in the head - Good sized space, good location, but we'd lose all the storage space. - In the aft port cabin wardrobe. Right next to the toilet and easy access, but may be disturbing for guest in that cabin (and they lose the storage space)
Has anyone got one in any other better locations?
Many thanks

We have the 2 berth 34.2. Ours is located in the very tall PORT locker behind the toilet, but I think you don't have this locker due to the third cabin.
The holding tank can be rigid or flexable by the way, so you can put it almost anywhere. It just wants to be quite high up if I remember correctly so that gravity does its job when you open it up.

Yeah, we have a third cabin with a wardrobe in that area - and not sure guests would appreciate a holding tank right in their cabin! It feels like replacing the storage cabinet in the head is the ideal place - it's right above the toilet, high up, and all the pipework is right there. It just means losing all the storage, but will find a way around that. I took the cabinet out to see how much space there is and its pretty big (see photos). Getting to the pipework with a tank in there might be a bit fiddly though...

Hi, I retrofitted a holding Tank on my 34.2 (2 cabin version) last year. A lot easier as I could mount it in the port-side cockpit locker directly on the bulkhead the the head. I would in any case opt for a rigid tank as the flexible tanks are more prone to develop leaks over time. The tank in the picture ist from "can plastic" and is available in many different sizes (I got mine from www.svb24.com/en/can-plastic-waste-tanks.html). Dont forget the ventilation...
