Dear members, I am new to this Forum. I own a Jeanneau Sunshine 38 (1987) in southern Chile. I am sure I will ask all of you many questions. For now I will pose this one. The two deck hatches are cracked and need to be replaced. However, I have not found any that resemble the original ones. Does anyone know the make and model of these hatches (below is a photo). They are approximately 44cm x 57cm at the base. Should I just buy any hatch with similar measurements and fit it in? Or will this be a major job of enlarging (or decreasing) a few millimeters the deck opening? Thanks!

New hatches will be good, nice latching and waterproof, …… but expensive.
It is possible to replace the perspex and reuse the frame which is cheaper, but new handles may be difficult to find if you wish to keep originality. There is no right or wrong answer, it’s your boat, I think new hatches would be better than rebuilt old hatches, but not if on a tight budget.
Happy sailing

Welcome to our forum. I am not sure, but suspect it is a Goiot/Amiot. As CB says you could probably have the Perspex replaced at a reasonable cost. The current Amiot hatch range don't have anything close to your size unfortunately: www.goiot.fr/en/panneaux-opal
Might also be worth asking on the SunShine 36/38 Facebook group. www.facebook.com/groups/221943206144600/ If you are lucky someone may have a spare or at least be able to confirm the make. Do let the group know how you get on with sourcing a replacement etc Malcolm

Thank you MalcomP and Charlie-Bravo for your suggestions. I will see whether I can replace the perspex.
