Hi all I seem to have a short circuit on the main cabin lights. These are the saloon lights that have 2 switches, one by the companion way and the second one by the compression post.
The switch has a red wire and 2 purple ones, and somehow one of the purple wires seems to have been crossed with a neutral wire, as I can measure 6.5~volts between the Live and one of the the purple wires.
Anyone knows where the main connection box is located for the purple wires? I have removed all the ceiling panels and have traced the wires towars the main head. But I cannot see any such wires around the main panel
Thanks in advance
Cheers

I've got the manuals for the 43DS at Jeanneau 43DS Manuals; that shows the electrical connections as well.

Hello Andreshs.
I also had problems with the electrics in the salon ceiling. The fault lay in an incorrectly screwed multi-pin connector, which makes the electrical connection between the hull and the deck. This is located behind the cabinet in the shower. Water could get in there and create the most peculiar currents.
Good luck, Uwe

Hi Uwe
Thanks!!!!
I removed the panel in the right but didn’t think of cutting the rear one instead! I will give it a try this coming weekend
Thanks a million!

An interesting contribution from Tina.
Not that i have the problem but there is another location which might have caused your problem and that is the light switch by the companionway. The location is close to one of the bolts securing the SS handrail and quite often in heavy weather or heavy rain i find water dripping from the switch! I fixed the leak with our trusty Captain Tolley's Creeping Crack Cure so never had to dismantle everything to get at the offending bolt. Andrew "Genial Bee"

Saltymetals, I have that exact same issue, we get quite a bit of water dripping from those switches by the companionway sometimes. Another 43DS owner up this way (Long Island Sound) had the very same issues with water leaking there. He ended up removing that SS handrail on the starboard side. He said it was quite a b***h to do !! Not sure if that fixed his "leaking light switch" yet. Where did you put the drops of "Capt Tolleys creeping crack cure " ? Knowing these locations would be a big help. Just along the SS posts ? Along the edge of the wood ? How well did it work and for how long ? Do you reapply every season ? Thanks in advance !
