I’m looking for one of these (now discontinued hence hard to track down). Anyone got a working version I could buy?

Hello, Perhaps a Quick (or Muir) AA560 would do the trick. Modern version of the same thing. Made in NZ so nice and close.

Quick CHC 1203 is the (new) direct replacement for the CHC 1202.

Thanks but unfortunately the 1203 is now also discontinued and is also slightly too big. The 1202 is 94x90mm whereas the 1203 is 102x102mm.

Unfortunately the Muir requires 140x130mm clear space whereas my 1202 unit uses only 90x94mm and is a tight fit as you can see here. Also shown is the latest replacement model (just called CHC) which is much too big, hence the challenge.

Ah yes I see what you mean. That makes replacement difficult alright. I hope you can get a replacement.

So, not exactly local to NZ but Cactus Nav seem to claim to have them …… £280.00 …. Ouch ! not having a counter to go wrong myself, I favour counting inaccurate seconds whilst lowering the chain, I did fit markers but most popped off the chain, and if I lose count I let it all out, given enough room ….. perhaps winding it back a bit in if things are looking a bit tight. £280.00 seems quite a lot, you could open it up and see which bit has corroded, replace that bit, and your fixed, or give it to A.N.Other CB radio repair man, these fellas like a circuit challenge, or paint mark the chain …. although that can be awkward / impossible to use from the cockpit. How ‘terminal’ is the failure? My counter kept stating that the internal battery was low. I eventually opened it up and changed the CR2032 battery in it after watching a YouTube video on doing so. It now appears to be OK again. Could that help you???

I have a CHC1202 counter controller for you.
It’s working OK, you can send a private message if you’re interested.
