I have noticed that the exhaust flange on my 43DS is leaking a small amount water of water into the stern cavity. I'm not sure how to get into the cavity to take off the nuts that the flange is bolted on with. Has anyone else had this problem or if anyone can offer some insight to fix, I would appreciate it

Hi there
Perhaps a photo or drawing would help to ensure I understand your issue. Anyway, 'if' you are referring to the exhaust to hull fitting, I had a similar issue and had to remove the gas locker in order to access it. Now, to remove the gas locker you either install an inspection hatch at the bottom of the passage to the swimming platform; or you need to remove the aft (garage) locker, so you can disconnect the drain hose from the transom...
I had to do the job several times and eventually I fitted an inspection hatch, now I can just disconnect the drain hose from the locker directly within minutes
Cheers

Hi Andresh,
I'm going to tackle pulling the gas locker later this summer - any chance you can post a picture of your inspection hatch installation?
Thanks.

Thanks for the information. How did you remove the caulk so that you could pull out that locker?

How do you like it ? Looks like a tight fit . Was it hard to reroute the sink drains under the sink ? Tom

Hi Tom As part of the re-routing of the drain hoses, I added a sump box next to the main bilge, this collects the water from the sink, the washing machine and I will add the hoses for the forward shower drain and sink. The sump box has a bilge pump inside with sensor, and drains via a thru hull about the water line. Thus I have removed 2 underwater thruhulls. The project was very straight forward, the only advice is to add the steel plate on the floor to ensure that it will have additional support, and get someone to help you move the washing machine…I did it alone and it was a pain in the rear end… The wife is rather happy with the addition though, and so far has been working great Cheers
