I have a leak between the hull and the fiberglass that sandwiches to it underneath the rubber trim along the stern. Does anyone know how this trim is attached? I'm not sure if I should just pull it off or if it has to be glued back on if I do that. If anyone has had this issue and has fixed it, please let me know how you did it.

Sailorik,
I had a similar problem for the white rubber trim on my boat (2004) but i had no leak. It just started peeling off after 12-13 years in some pretty rough weather. I had the yard seal it back on and never had any trouble since. You should see what the boatyard recommends but maybe some sealer inside the joint, then screw/bolt it together, then replace the rubber trim with plenty of sealer.
A previous boat i had (Beneteau Oceanis 400) had a similar problem and it included a leak. The boatyard sealed the GRP joint, then replaced the trim w plenty of sealer and then BOLTED the trim onto the hull with bolts about 1 foot apart. No problems since then. Only prblm with this approach is that you then see the bolts all the way around the trim. My suggestion in the first para above would avoid this but i do not know if there is enough thickness in the GRP to recess the bolts sufficiently in order to smoothly slide on the trim. good afternoon sir.. yes , its only held on by glue.. you'll have a hard time accessing the area because to poop tank is there, but i would consider glassing it from the inside and then reattach the rubber with 3m5200 or something like it.. i actually need that rubber piece and jeanneau is telling me they dont offer it anymore (along with a whole bunch of other parts i need ) when you go in through the "garage" access you can see the joint where the deck /hull joint meet . i would remove the rubber and assess where the leak is and then make a judgement on how to proceed .. maybe consider bridging that joint with glass from the inside if that joint is leaking ..

Thank you for the info. I plan to remove it after the season and put it back on with 4200 or something that can be removed if needed later. That won't fix the leak and I intend to do that first. Sealing the joint from the inside may be the only way but that will be quite a challenge. Has anyone tried to do this? Has anyone removed "the garage"? Sharing any experience you have with this would be most appreciated.
