Just come across my 3rd problem with hosing on this 43DS boat (others being starboard water breathers and bilge). Both the filling hose and the breather hose exit the tank and DROP before rising, causing a fuel trap. For the fill hose, that means untreated diesel sitting in the hose (worse still if you pour in your additives via the deck!!) ; for the breather that means significant pressure buildup in the tank. I’m cutting a hole in the floor of the cupboard the left of the captains table, to access and raise the hoses. Meantime, I want to clean/clear the external mesh at the end of the breather hose, visible above the outlet for the bilge pumps, in the aft/port side. Does anyone know how? ? Please 🙏 Many Thanks Papawads

Fascinating update….. I was buying a crude in-line fuel filter from the local (and hugely experienced) chandlery, here in Corfu. He asked what made me need one. I told him the glass cup at the bottom of my Racor filter, had lots of what looked like rubber bits. He said “check you diesel tank filling hose, I bet it has a bend at the bottom and holds diesel”. So rubber hose exposed to diesel 24x7x365 for 21 years will basically eat the hose! It’s been slowly disintegrating from the inside. Anyway, I’ve already sorted the hose, but that was interesting
