Hi, Has anyone put window tinting on the side windows of a 795/895 ect? Thought it might be great for UV protection of the interior.
Cheers

We had a cover made for the front window made from phifertex for our 895. We got the thicker weave that keeps out 90% of UV Light. Cost was around $750. I thought about having the side windows done as well but haven’t pulled the trigger.
Obviously, This doesn’t help when under way but could be a good option at the dock if you are not able to tint.

Window tinting works great in 795 glass windows port and starboard against heat and light. But when it gets dark, you wont be able to see outside. Therefore I left the sliding windows and a small triangular upper section of the windows adjacent to the front window untinted. It works for me day and night now. As for the front window we tinted a section of the upper part as in cars. The sliding doors are not tinted. Particularly because they are not glass and not really required. SinSce the hatch is not glass it should not be tinted too. Sliding sun shades would be nice. I will try them this year.

We put a 3M film on the front and side windows of our first NC 795 that had no tint but claimed to reduce UV and subsequent heat buildup by 70%. In not sure if the 70% reduction was achieved but it did help. The rear sliders are not glass and therefore cannot be tinted. The film is very expensive, however, costing just over 3k.
