Hello. Can anyone tell me how to stop the port and starboard windows on a 2016 MF 795 from leaking please. Rain water seems to get under the glass bottom edge and then well up inside the cabin. I don't know how it's getting down the outside and then up on the inside. I have tried a run of silicone but it still comes up. I've come to the conclusion that both windows need to be removed and resealed. Does anyone have experience of this? Thanks

I would start with carefully inspecting the side window and windshield caulkings and the caulkings between the hull and those black panels. Then test with a water hose. I had a leak on the starboard side, and had a really hard time figuring out where the water came from. We finally found a crack in the caulking below the grab bar (see pic). The crack was small, but large enough for the rain water to sneak in, especially in strong winds.

Hello Mike. Thanks for your information. I had checked the caulking but not under the black panels you have highlighted. Since posting I spoke to my local Jeanneau dealer. They say its most likely coming from the posts between the front and side windows. I'm going to check the area you suggested before booking the boat in for repair. Thanks again.

Windshield caulkings seem the most logical leak source and that's what I suspected, too. I tried to spray water at every angle but couldn't reproduce the leak there. That is generally the best method when trying to locate the leak, and that's also how we finally managed to do it. And with some paper that I placed between the window and the hull, after removing the sealing strip.

Here is my exprience with a leak. I had water coming in heavy rain from the port side window, dropping down on the back seat. I even had to put a water bottle to collect it. The dealer found somebody from a glass shop, and who inspected the sika sealings from outside. As I was watching him he took out all the sika along the bottom of the window with his knife. He reapplied the sika he brought with him. There is no leak of any sort now. The problem was solved. The reason was sika was not properly applied in the factory and there was a slight movement noticed when the window was pushed. Of course the sika applied was a special one highly resistant to heat and uv.
I had another leak coming from the chain locker section into the bow thruster compartment when the boat was washed. For this one we had to apply sika again deep down the corners of the locker bottom. That was an advanture because the dealer first tried to stop it from inside unsuccesfully ruining my two weekends.

I had exactly same problem on 2016 MF 795 so it's disappointing that it is still happening. I had the whole port window resealed and it fixed the problem. Later I had the starboard one done as well. The resealing works and I agree with ihsan that the factory sealing is not quite right and there must be movement of the glass. There are other threads on this topic and Jeanneau know it well by now. My repairs were covered by Jeanneau under warranty and I haven't had a problem since.

Thanks for all of your replies. My leak turned out to be from the front mullions.Water was getting in there, travelling under the side windows and running out into the cabin. A UK Jeanneau dealer, Burton Waters, did an excellent repair for me. They removed the mullion covers.. it was very wet behind them. After drying out, new sealant was applied and then new mullion covers were fitted. The boat is perfectly dry now. The leak is caused by poor manufacturing workmanship and quality control apparently not uncommon in 2016 models.

Did you need to go to an authorized Jeanneau dealer to get the repair done under warranty? or can you get it repaired and claim from Jeanneau? My 895 was purchased 6000 km's away. Thanks

Sorry hadn't seen your post. I'm a distance from dealer too so had it repaired locally after approval from Jeanneau.
