Hi, my second post in this forum on my recently acquired 2016 MF855.
When first viewing the boat I noticed a chemical/petrol type smell in the pilothouse so I asked the surveyor to focus on this during his inspection. He gave the fuel system a clan bill of health in his report and put the smell down to the fact that the canopy had been stored in the master cabin and/or GRP odours from the boat sitting in the sun. I've since removed the canopy but the smell has lingered and been noticed by others.
While I'm awaiting for a petrol sensor/alarm to be fitted, I was wondering if anyone else had encountered something similar ? Maybe this is a feature of Merry Fisher's I need to live with ?
Thanks.

I had a similar experience on my Cap Camarat 8.5WA. Fuel system checked out fine, no leaks, etc, but cabin stank similar to petrol. In the end I also put it down to chemicals / GRP. Smells less now. Sits in the sun too. Boat launched in 2013 and stopped smelling about a year ago.
