It's a wet day here, racing is cancelled, and having replied to a couple of posts thought I'd start a thread here for the mighty Sun Legende - for any that might be interested. I completed a bit of a major on mine over 3 years in the shed. I bought her on the hardstand, as is where is, as a bit of a project boat with a view to future offshore cruising again some day. Big mistake. Major works included:
-planning hull and epoxy fairing/ sealing
-remove teak to side decks and all deck fittings windows to toerail.
-replacing all acrylic to windows, portlights and hatches
-re-core side decks with divinicell, fibreglass and paint
-removing fwd head and increasing berth to make a decent fwd cabin. New cabinets.
-removing all interior lining and replacing with epoxy sealed marine ply, painted
-Removal of sugar scoop, cut out stern and make up mould for new glass steps.
-Repair of steering systems - quadrant, rudder and autopilot
-Complete rewire 12& 230v
-Replace lpg stove, hosing and gas systems
-installing new electric head and remodelling aft bathroom
-new squabs throughout
-replace engine mounts, overhaul gearbox, fit feathering propeller and dripless seal
-Fair, fair and repaint ( several times - long story)
Link to a few photos here. As it seems to go with boats generally, you never seem to finish. I have yet to do the rewarding work like interior varnish and upgrades to electronics etc but will add more photo in time if there is interest.
