Hi everyone, first post here and looking some help!!!
I have recently got a 2019 Merry Fisher 795.
It has a Cristec Automatic Battery Charger. The boat has 3 batteries.
I'm a bit (totally) clueless as to the operation of the charger and need some advice please!
When i'm plugged into shore power the on light on the battery charger is on.
The charging phase light is flashing red meaning its in boost phase.
I have left it plugged in overnight and the next day it is still showing in the boost phase.
The three master switches were off and the circuit breakers were all on.
The battery indicator on the outboard hasn't went down or up, sits at around 12.2 volts.
I have sat on the boat plugged into shore power and the battery indicator on the outboard still hasn't went up or down, should this start to increase?
Can anybody help/advise?

12.2v is pretty low. I would say the battery is not connected to the charger. If it is, then the charger is not working.

12.2v is pretty low. I would say the battery is not connected to the charger. If it is, then the charger is not working. This for sure! Or a battery is bad and not taking a charge. You can get the batteries tested at any car shop. Even if the battery was not accepting charge, if the charger was connected you would see the bulk charge voltage, and once the charger was turned off the voltage would drop to whatever SOC voltage the battery has. 12.2v is less than 50% charge

There's a 30 amp fuse under the main cover. If the charger is installed in the vertical position, remove the phillips screw on the bottom and rotate the cover up and out. Before you pull the cover off, disconnect the 110 source, either unplug the shore power and/or turn the breaker off.
I just had to replace the cristec output plug and the fuse on my nc 895 sport. I was able to get the plug from marinebeam in SC if you're in the states.
On the output plug (it'll be black or green), you'll see 1 black and 3 red wires and the screwposts that holds them. You can use a multimeter to test the voltage across the banks. In boost mode you'll see battery voltage (12.2-12.5) then in a 60-120 seconds from activating the breaker, it'll jump to 13.3-13.5V depending on the current load.
Hope this helps.

Thanks for your replies! Still can’t figure this out! Finally got cover off. (It’s in a real tight spot!) When I’m connected to main supply the on light is ON. The indictor light flashes red every 5 seconds or so ( i thought from reading the manual this meant boost mode but it’s not, boost is 1 second on 1 second off) So, when plugged in and the engine on the charger seems to work as it should but reverts back to nothing with engine off! Really starting to bug me!!!! Attachment Deleted

You can't check the charger output if the engine is running because the engine's alternator will be putting out charging voltages.
Do you have a multimeter? If so, disconnect the DC output wires on the charger and check the voltage. If you don't have a meter, I'm not sure what troubleshooting you can do. Get a meter!
Does the charger manual have fault codes listed that tell you what the slow flash means?
It sounds to me like the charger is not charging at all. Did you locate the fuse mentioned above? It is the blue plastic thing on the bottom right of your pic. Pull it out and look at it from the side, you will be able to see if it is blown.

We had to replace ours. 2020 795. Ours was covered in fine fiberglass dust, left over from the build process. Why nobody at the factory took the time to vacuum out the hull, I have no idea. After months of waiting we were finally sent a new one, after reporting it to the dealer, with pics of the dust in the hull. We actually had purchased a new one, and are hoping they will warranty the house battery that the fridge drew down to 6 volts, as we had to replace it, and added a 2nd house battery too. If you get an exact replacement, it's an easy job, using the existing wires. We'd hoped it was just the fuse, but replacement of the one in the charger, and the panel under the sink did nothing.

Reared you checking the battery voltage with a good meter right at the batteries? If not this might be a good place to start. Never know how accurate an installed meter is.
