Hi, I am retiring sometime this year ... no idea when yet however. When I do, I will be looking to purchase a 42 DS with a view to spending a lot more time out in Spain as I have a long-term berth there at the MDL Sant Carles Marina. From my limited understanding of the current Brexit situation, I will be looking for an EU VAT paid yacht, which could include UK flagged so long as there is proof it was in EU waters on 31/12/2020 (happy to stand corrected on that though?). So really this is advanced notice for anybody who might be considering selling before too long, but probably still wants the benefit of this summer season with their yacht. My 'wanted' may still be the case in 12 months time or longer if I am unlucky in finding one between now and then! Looks like I just missed a Gib one but was not quite ready to do a quick deal (pension/mortgage need sorting first hence I need a bit of notice if possible...). Kind Regards .. John.

Thanks ... tempted for the right price, but currently no good deals appear to be out there.

Hi, A beautiful yacht, thank-you. I would love it. However at current exchange rates, it is totally out of my price league. Also, not being EU country flagged I can only guess at the Value Added Tax treatment it would receive .. probably also exorbitantly expensive and until I finish work next year year, I would also have to pay to either store, or have transferred to Europe ... again, even more ££££s ($$$$$s). Appreciate the thinking though. Kind Regards .. John.

Price range: ... it's more about value and condition. I would not like to give a price given crazy market of late - somebody will naturally then offer me at that price - more important have not been phased by any of the 42DS advertised and sold in the EU the last year., up to 2010 models. Missed out on two really good examples in recent times that went for sub £100,000 prices as was not ready. Am not wealthy but am retiring next spring and releasing some cash by then, plus my berth is then available again. For a cracking deal that has to be sooner, I might consider finance to acquire the right yacht but sadly that has not been fast enough, coupling terminally ill parent care and with COVID travelling restrictions for a couple of purchase attempts recently. I would also consider the 39DS. Kind Regards .. John.

Did it, bought it .. fantastic 2012 42DS Owners version in great condition.
After sailing it back from Greece to Spain through summer I can confirm it is a great boat and perfect for us with the owners version. Water slapping in the incredible rear cabin as I have read several people asking??? ... all I can say is we sleep really really well, better than home and find it very soporific and my wife with her tinnitus absolutely loves it!
Unfortunately family bereavement has caused many problems that are going to be ongoing back in the UK and has me wondering whether can spend enough time out in Spain to justify keeping. Everybody is saying wait and I might as it truly is our dream yacht - nothing to touch it for us apart from the 41DS, but mulling over selling if can get my money back. You can see the yacht on Ancasta but PM me first if want to talk more...
Thanks .. John.

Mine is for sale as I want to upgrade to a 490! My 2007 42DS is as loaded as it can possibly be. The only problem for you is that it won’t be available until May and will be in Florida at that time.
