We have a new 795 S2 coming the end of this year and I wondered if anyone has done any fishing style customizations to their boats? This will be a dual purpose fishing/cruising vessel, so any modifications need to minimally impact the cruising function as well as aesthetics (wife’s criteria). Here’s what I’m thinking for starters: 1. Install Burnewiin mounts in the factor rod holder locations to use for Scotty downriggers 2. Install a pair of 18” stainless rails forward of the Burnewiin mounts to attach rod holders to 3. Build a custom Starboard bait table over a cooler to be strapped to the rear bench seat (with cushions removed). The cooler will function as a fish hold as well as live well if needed. 4. Add 2 stainless rod holders to each side rail near the rear of the cabin. This will be in place of rocket launchers as we have the full Su top (which I may remove for fishing and add rocket launchers as well).
Any thoughts or feedback on these ideas? Would love to see what others have done and will post pictures of ours once complete.

It doesn't look like anyone gave you any feedback. I have a 2016 MF 855 and I'm looking to do the exact same.
Burnewiin GM300 on the side or GM650 in the factory rod holder. I do not know if that area is strong enough for a downrigger though. Burnewiin makes a backplate for it, but I don't know if that is enough. Did you use the rod holder location or find a better setup? I would love to know what you did or if anyone else with a MF has answers. Thanks in advance.
