hi all I have in my future plans to purchase a new sailing boat. I was almost sure that SO440 would be the best choice for me, but recently I saw a SO410 in a marina few slips from a SO440 and it seems that also the SO410 could be fine for the two of us.
while checking all the differences between the 2 SO sisters, I carefully checked the optionals list.
independently from the choice 410vs440, I would go for the following main options: 2 cabins layout Engine upgrade pack premiere + preference pack downwind pack electronic ocean full bimini/canvas/cushions bowthruster generator heater water maker (?)
questions for SO410 owners: where is located/installed the generator? I did not find the water maker in the list of optionals. is it available? if so where is installed pack voyager: it's very expensive... and hard for me to justify the 16k€... any suggestion? any picture available of the stainless steel davits arch?

We bought a 410 and took delivery last July. We have the 2 cabin 1 head. The option that I would recommend is the hanging locker with storage in the forward cabin. If you order it be careful because they also offer a hanging locker with a sink..we love our boat..we also went for a power winch on the port cabin top.

We had the same choice and went with the 440. We are glad that we did, but we also have two children so there are four of us. They are both great options you really can't go wrong.
We also went with the performance package and that was a good choice for us. The downwind is included but you also get the taller mast and higher quality sails, and the genoa sheet cars can be adjusted from the cockpit. It makes a big difference in light air, and we can always reef down when it blows.
We also decided against the generator and opted for the lithium batteries. Again, glad we made that choice. We plan on adding solar but even without solar the better batteries mean we can go days on anchor without having to charge and when we do it takes less than an hour. We run the inverter to make coffee in the morning and our kids are still on the devices more than we would like so it isn't like we are cutting back to save battery power.
One thing to note, if a package seems expensive, or there are things in it you do not want, ask your dealer. Much of that is installed by the dealer in commissioning and you can tailor to fit your desires and budget. For example, we went with the lowest electronic package because none of them were exactly what we wanted. We then added to it in commissioning to make it what we wanted.
My point is there is more flexibility in the process than it may seem at first. Good luck.
Warm regards, Chuck

I saw the option for sink/wardrobe in forward cabin, but did not know it was possible to install only the wardrobe. maybe can be useful also the sink, having only one head... regarding the power winch on port cabin top will be a must if I will go for the standard main sail... but most likely I will take it anyway... sail plan is another big doubt... furling main + std genoa or std main + self tacking jib... for the code 0 I will decide after some time of sailing... to understand which would be the best option in the code "world"... 0, D, 60, gennaker etc... an headache! which sail plan do you have? if the std main, is it easy to open/close the lazybag? I guess that with the sprayhood mounted it's not easy to reach the "end" of the boom to pull the zip...

Warm regards, Chuck congrats for your 440! definitely a wonderful boat! in my future cruising ground I will need the minimum air draft to be able to select optimal routes often forbidden if "taller" the 20 m. honestly I still have not checked the height difference between std/performance mast for 410/440... lithium battery is a good choice, specially with a good solar... I guess that the solar panels proposed as optional by jeanneau are not that much power, probably it would be necessary an upgrade. I would be staying far from docks for weeks and one day liveaboard for at least 8 month/year so I am forced to go for the generator (what a price!). having a direct source for 220V will be mandatory... and with the genny the lithim might not be so important upgrade. thanks for the suggestion of investigating with dealer for a sort of customization of packages and in general options... for example I would live to have B&G electronics instead of Raymarine... maybe it will be possible considering that, if I am not mistaking, beneteau 40.1 is installing B&G

If you prefer B&G (I do too) then certainly talk to your dealer. The electronics are not actually installed in the factory, they are installed during commissioning. The exception would be the drive arm for the autopilot, but that would not impact your decision to use B&G.
Good luck and congratulations.
