It's getting to that time when we need to think about new blinds or curtains for the salon windows. Came across this the other day. They will tailor to fit but not 100% sure in my mind it will work too well on the curved windows. www.zarcor.com/products/clozures/index.php#gal-image-0Has anyone had experience with this product, or can anyone suggest an alternative.

Hi there
I am actually getting outside blinds made of phifertex, this help to remove 90% of sun, and still translucent enough to see through from the inside out
worth checking out
cheers

I have outside screens like this, and they are wonderful for keeping the sun out and mitigating the damage to the window seals. HOWEVER, they are not very good at privacy, AT NIGHT. You will be inside your boat with the lights on, eating a meal or doing whatever you do in your main cabin, and the people on the pier outside will have a full view of your activities. Only very slightly muted.
So, we keep the inside curtains closed. Sometimes I wonder about the logic of buying a boat because of the windows that allow you to see outside much better, but then you have to buy external screens to keep out the sun/heat, and you also have to have internal screens for privacy.

RecPro blind has a great fit, great color, and easy to install. These block most of the "booger" lights around the camper at night but are not "blackout" shades. For the price, they are just beautiful. Well worth the investment. I just hope they had a larger size assortment to pick from, I would replace all of my shades.

Andres, I guess it is a matter of personal choice but i also use external blinds like the ones you show in yr photo but mine are white. I think it reduces the temp inside the saloon in the summer by 3-5 Deg C.
Mine are modelled on the winter full canvas outside blinds which come as original equipment on the 43ds but i often only keep the white summer blinds in place for the forward section of the saloon and do not use the outside summer blinds on each side. A good compromise since it still allows a good view from inside the saloon. Andrew
