Hi. I am about to order a gennaker for my Sun Fast 35 and I get different sizes from different sailmakers (off course). What i want is an allround reacher, called a g3??, wich will be used in winds up to 18-20 knots, but mostly in winds around 10-14 knots.
Does anyone bought a gennaker that they think fit my needs please let me know what size you have. Im thinking of something like 86-90 squaremeters.
Regards Christopher

There are not too many SF owners of any size out there, mostly SO owners of the hull.....
Also not sure on sizeing for you boat, as it seems like there are as many ways to measure a sail as there are sail makers and rating rules. using an example, the sailmaker I use for my 85 Arcadia was showing a sail to be 750sq ft, not sure of the top of my head for sw meters, but would sway 65-75, I'm recalling the conversion to be about 10-11 sq ft per sq meter. But the way local rating rules folks go, the max I can be with out penalties is 654! which turns out to be pretty close to they 750# the sailmaker uses.
Looking online at one sailmaker, they show an approx 770sq ft sail, seem small to me, but who knows.
Anyway. I have a North AS as it sounds like you are looking at. I do not remember if it is a G2 or 3, but it is about 85-90% of what ever would be max for my boat. And in winds 12-25, its fun! I can do just under my 6.6 knot hull speed to 9 knots in the upper range with out issues.
My arcadia hull is an older predecessor design to your boat as far as performance goes. If the sail is this size in % to max, it should work well for what you are asking it to do. The sock is nice when you have two folks, or maybe a few more but inexperienced.

Thanks for your reply. I think i will go with something like 90% of max size.
