I have a new-to-me 2019 NC 895 and there are a few issues I presented to the closest dealer for possible warranty coverage. After a several days I called and they told me the photos and descriptions were sent to Jeanneau and warranty coverage was denied. I'm interested if any Jeanneau owners have had similar issues and how they were handled. I have attached (hopefully) 3 images. 2 are self explanatory and one is a gel coat defect (?) located on below the starboard gunwale on the inside wall (just across from the helm door). There doesn't appear to be any sign of impact and the defect/crack was pretty flush and hard to see. I found it accidentally. The photo shows it after I pressed on it a little. Thanks in advance for any feedback

I think this is a too easy way out for Jeanneau. It seems to me that there is air between the gelcoat and polyester where it should not be. This makes de gelcoat extremely vulnerable for impact damage.
Where is your boat build?

I don't know about the sunroof but the void in the gel coat is definitely a Warr issue. We had the same problem and it was repaired under warranty.

Hi Remedy
I agree, the fiberglass that appears to be a void should be covered. I had a few small fiberglass voids on my 895’s interior. They were repaired under warranty. I’ve had one time (on rusty swim Step bolts) that jeanneau initially said no on the warranty. I got some better pictures showing how bad the rust was and proving the bolts were mild steel rather than stainless and the local dealer in Seattle pushed back on jeanneau and they covered it. Your dealer should be willing to do the same. On the sunroof paint, I have a bit of that too. I think the peeling was started by one of the sunroof window open/close mechanism screws being loose and rubbing. I tightened the screw and nut. I haven’t asked for the paint fix under warranty - figured it was easy for me to clean it up and apply some paint.

Thanks for the responses. Now I'm a little nervous now about voids. Hope it's an isolated defect. I guess I'll have to push back on the dealer and see what happens,.

Well, after receiving some assistance from a Beneteau employee, the bottom line is that they declined to cover any of my issues. At first they just said "not warranty issues" and later "out of warranty period". Classy. I can't say that I'm surprised based on things I've read about Jeanneau/Beneteau responsiveness. Closest dealer was of no help.
So, if anyone has comments/suggestions on how I can repair the gel coat void/crack I'm all ears. I have read up on it, so I'm not asking anyone to do the research for me...just any tips you might have based on experience.
Thanks for reading.

That’s baloney. This should be covered by warranty. Do you have a copy of the boats warranty to review? Where are you located? There may be a company other than the dealer authorized to perform jeanneau work under a warranty. If not resolved through a dealer or an authorized shop then I’d get a repair quote from a reputable boat fiberglass repair facility to include stuff like labor and yard or dock time for the boat then file a claim with the small claims court. That will get their attention. Perhaps it’s not worth this hassle. But companies should support their products.

I voiced my disappointment and mentioned that it doesn't speak well of Beneteau Group's commitment to quality and service. Basically, the response was "sorry". I hate to say it, but I've gotten to the point where I don't expect much from warranties these days. I guess Beneteau's business is good enough that they don't have to care.

Sorry to hear this is happening to your boat. I also observed a few brand new US made 895 weekenders at the Dealer’s dock to have the exactly same issue: air gaps below the Gel Coat layer, which caused fiberglass defects as shown in your photos.
I have yet to see similar defects in Poland made Hulls in 895 Sport / 1095 Weekender. Agree with other owners suggestions, you can consider to take the boat maker to small claim court. Or have an attorney send them a letter might do the trick.
Good luck !
