Hi All,
I plan on purchasing a SO 49 in Europe. Does anyone have any dealers they would recommend in Spain or France. Preferably a yard that has commissioned larger Jeanneau's.
Thanks in advance.

Are you looking for a new or used SO 49.
We purchased a SO 49 from The Moorings and put it in charter with them. I know that they also will sell vessels you can take them out of charter early. They have special boat show prices and come with more equipment than the other dealers offer, and at a lower price.
We were in Greece (KOS) this past Sept. on a SO 49 and it was in great shape after a year of charter and it had more equipment than ours in Tortola, BVI.
The manager in Kos, Greece is Andre Leroy, email andreas_leroy@hotmail.com.
We love the SO 49, great boat. If I was to get another one it would be with the 3 cabin version. Ours is the convertible 4 cabin into a 3 cabin.

Hi Sal,
It would be a new 3 cabin... probably the 2007/08 model year.
We are chartering a SO49 in Tortola in November... with Horizon Yacht Charters. Maybe it's the same boat? This one comes with a Onan and A/C.

Jim,
Just thought of this; the SO49s have A/C only at dockside. They don't have a generator. If you decide on A/C I would advise getting a generator. This helps keeping the batteries charged and you don't have to run the engine to charge them. In addition you can use the generator to run the A/C. We don't have a generator now; but when we bring it back home (CT., USA) we will have one installed.
Have you looked at the SO49DS. From the photos it looks great.

Hi Sal,
We will be in Tortola November 11th thru the 26th, sailing November 14th thru 24th. My email is jginnes@mac.com.
It is my understanding this SO49 has the Onan generator. She is a 2005 hull.
I had a looked at the DS model at the Boot 2006 in Dusseldorf. Very nice, but for ocean sailing I think the standard model would fair better. Moving around on deck on the DS seemed a bit tricky. Comments?

Hi Jim, I bought a new Sun Odyssey 40.3 from Navemar last year, and I am more than happy with the service and the people there. I know they have also sold a number of SO 49, both the standard and the DS versions. Navemar is located in Puerto Tomas Maestre (37º44,5'N 0º43,8W). You can contact them at navemar@navemar.net or www.navemar.net. Juan
