Very informative video from one of my favourite Vloggers - RAN Sailing who tour the Selden factory to see their new in-mast furling mast being made. This features Seldens synchronised electric system www.seldenmast.com/smf/ well worth viewing even if you only like classic mains. Video at:

I like RAN sailing, it is the only sailing channel I follow.
That is a pretty high end mast! I am amazed that they make enough money from YouTube and Patreon to afford such upgrades.
Selden makes very nice masts. I found it interesting that 60% of the masts they build are furling and only 40% are classic.
I can see the appeal of a furling mast, particularly a motorized one, but it seems to me there is just a lot more to go wrong with them.
I will stick with my classic main thanks!

Yes indeed, I am sticking to classic too. I was impressed by the system, but when reefing needs canbus systems to function, does seem to be getting rather too complex, even if I could afford it.
